As a St. John’s University alumnus and Whitestone, NY, native, Peter Zuccarello, owner of QG Floral, was highlighted in a recent university success story.

While Peter grew up at his family’s flower shop, stocking shelves and working the cash register at 10 years old, he credits St. John’s University for helping him grow into the successful entrepreneur and businessman he is today. Naturally, he learned a great deal about running a family florist from his father and uncle, who founded QG Floral in 1976 after emigrating from Palermo, Sicily. However, by attending St. John’s University, a local school with an incredible reputation, he began to think about business in a new way.

Peter graduated from The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. During his time at the university, he continued working full-time at QG Floral. Post graduation, Peter saw the great potential for the neighborhood shop to grow into what it is today — one of New York’s premier floral and landscape companies with over 150 corporate and commercial partnerships across the city.

With hard work and grit, Peter expanded the floral company into a full-service operation. QG Floral offers landscape maintenance, floral installations, and upscale holiday decor services at some of the most iconic destinations in New York City, including Madison Square Garden, The Plaza Residences, and John F. Kennedy International Airport.
