The Story of a Flourishing Family Legacy

Since 1976, QG Floral has been serving the Whitestone, NY, community and making a name for itself. However, the story of QG Floral begins in Palermo, Sicily, where Sal Zuccarello grew up learning Italian Agriculture.

While QG Floral was the first flower shop established by Sal Zuccarello, this wasn't the family's first rodeo. For over a century, the Zuccarello family has been involved in Italian Agriculture, each generation being inspired and gaining knowledge from those before. Sal Zuccarello was no exception. He grew up in the countryside of Palermo, Sicily, where he harvested grapes for wine and olives for olive oil. (Today, QG Floral still sells these Italian delicacies in the gift shop!)

When Sal moved to America at the age of 18, he took a job as a landscaper. It wasn't long before Sal partnered with his brother, Joseph, to establish QG Floral, a small Christmas tree farm and a garden that grew Mother's Day flowers and spring plants. Eventually, a year-round nursery flourished, as did the flower shop. In 2000, the brothers split the business into a florist and a garden center, with Sal taking over the floral side. He brought his wife to stand by him as President of QG Floral and his son, Peter, to act as Vice President, continuing the tradition of operating a family business.

In 2022, QG Floral acquired another well-respected local florist, Flowers by Mike, expanding its reach to Oceanside and East Rockaway. Now in its second generation, QG Floral offers oversized holiday installs, commercial landscaping, wedding and event designs, gourmet gifts, high-end floral arrangements, and everyday bouquets to express the perfect sentiment to a loved one.
